Carol Millman

Director of Training

Carol Millman, our founder, holds a bachelor of science in Psychology from Mount Allison University, and a diploma in veterinary technology from the University of Guelph. Carol apprenticed at Pacific Assistance Dogs Society in Burnaby from 2008-2010 and founded Wag The Dog in 2011 with the talented Amelia Kellum. She has over 15 years of experience working with service dogs and has been working exclusively with owner trainers since 2016.

  • 2012-2017: Healing Paws Veterinary Care, Veterinary Nurse/Director of Medical Services

  • 2007 – University of Guelph, Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Suma Cum Laude. 

  • 2004 – Mount Allison University. Bachelor of Science in Psychology. 

Kaylen Chia

Service Dog Instructor

Kaylen Chia holds a diploma in Service Dog and Canine Studies Management from Medicine Hat College and is IAABC-ADT Accredited. Kaylen is a talented photographer with a love for animals. Before moving to Canada, she worked for years in the animal field as a dog trainer, volunteered at a local shelter, created bespoke pet accessories, and served as a show presenter at the Singapore Zoo. She is fluent in both English and Mandarin and is passionate about helping people with disabilities.

Michelle Hunt

Executive Director

Michelle is a business operations guru with over a decade of experience. She is known for taking small operations and helping them grow.

Michelle specializes in optimizing processes for efficiency and security; managing hyper-growth; recruiting, coaching and mentoring individuals and teams for high performance all while juggling multiple projects for excellent delivery on budget.

She is passionate about fostering a high-performance culture, managing operational risk, and strategic planning. She has years of experience helping non-profits grow and meet their mandates and we are very lucky to have her on our team!
