Carol Millman

Director of Training Programs

Kaylen Chia

Apprentice Trainer

Our trainers are certified professionals with a passion for nurturing the unique bond between service dogs and their handlers.

Carol Millman, our founder, holds a bachelor of science in Psychology from Mount Allison University, and a diploma in veterinary technology from the University of Guelph. Carol apprenticed at Pacific Assistance Dogs Society in Burnaby from 2008-2010 and founded Wag The Dog in 2011 with the talented Amelia Kellum. She has over 15 years of experience working with service dogs and has been working exclusively with owner trainers since 2016.

Kaylen Chia, our Apprentice Trainer, holds a Service Dog and Canine Studies Management diploma from Medicine Hat College. Before moving to Canada, she worked in the animal field for years as a dog trainer, volunteered for a local shelter and was public presenter at the Singapore Zoo.

Michelle Hunt

Michelle is a business operations guru with over a decade of experience. She is known for taking small operations and helping them grow.

Michelle specializes in optimizing processes for efficiency and security; managing hyper-growth; recruiting, coaching and mentoring individuals and teams for high performance all while juggling multiple projects for excellent delivery on budget.

She is passionate about fostering a high-performance culture, managing operational risk, and strategic planning. She has years of experience helping non-profits grow and meet their mandates and we are very lucky to have her on our team!
